Votsalakia in Samos consists of a wide and long coastal strip that extends to the beaches of Psili Ammos and Limonakia.
The original name for this area is Kampos Marathokampou and most of the buildings in Votsalakia are new. Before the tourist industry got underway, the place consisted of a few fishermen’s houses, farms and a few hotels.
The area of Votsalakia is particularly interesting for tourists because of the beach and the many opportunities for entertainment on the beach and in the evenings.
The elongated village of Votsalakia has no real center and is almost completely dependent on tourism economically. You will also find numerous hotels, apartments and taverns along the main road.
In the high season there are plenty of options to entertain yourself and there is a pleasant bustle until the night.
However, if you are looking for museums, culture or places of interest, it is advisable to rent a car and better explore the island of Samos.
The sea water in Votsalakia is very clean and clear and no hotel is more than 500 meters from the beach.
