Pythagoreio

Pythagorion on the Greek island of Samos is one of the main tourist centers of the island. Thanks to the low-rise hotels, Pythagoreio retains its original Greek character.
The city is built along a slope and on a beautiful and picturesque bay.
Along the harbor and quay you will find lots of cozy restaurants, taverns and cafes.
Right on the eastern pier on the bay you will find the statue of Pythagoras, the name giver of the city.
The central shopping street of Pythagoreio is a great opportunity for tourists to shop and look for bargains.

The famous tunnel of Eupalinos is just north-west of Pythagoreio. This tunnel was used to provide water to the city and is seen as an architectural wonder.
Kastro Logothetis castle can be found on a hill west of the harbor. This well-preserved ruin dates from the time of the Greek struggle for freedom. Archaeological research has determined that the Kastro hill was inhabited 3000 years ago.
