Kokkari on Samos is the most famous resort on the island. Kokkari was only founded in the mid-19th century and then consisted of only a few fishermen’s houses.
Only since the arrival of the international touring time has Kokkari blossomed and has the resort become the most visited holiday destination on Samos.
Yet Kokkari has been able to retain its intimate and original character, thanks to the old houses and low-built hotels.
The church of Agios Nikolaos is located on the main street of Kokkari. Nearby you will also find parking options, the taxi rank and a bus stop. From here you walk into the pedestrian zone of Kokkari and you will find lots of taverns, restaurants and cafes to entertain you during the evening hours.
The long beach of Kokkari is appropriately called “Long Beach”, but you can also choose the beaches Lemonakia beach or Tsamadou beach, both of which are close by.
